Round 6 arrived with extra anticipation after last week’s washout, as Round 5 was wiped from the schedule by severe weather. Now well past the halfway mark of the season, every snap carries extra weight—playoff hopes are tightening, and chances are beginning to slip away for those on the edge. The Hogs in the seniors and the Eagles in the juniors continue their flawless seasons at 5–0 , while a defending champion finally secured a much-needed win to keep its hopes alive of repeating. With stakes rising and pressure mounting, round 6 delivered exactly the kind of intensity you’d expect as the final stretch to the playoffs begins.
Juniors: UniSA Eagles 5-0 defeat Port Adelade Spartans 0-5
Final Score: 54 – 0
The UniSA Eagles continued their dominance on their way to a potential perfect season. They soared to 5–0 with a commanding 54–0 shutout of the Port Adelaide Spartans, who remain winless at 0–5. Like they have most weeks the Eagles controlled every phase of the game—imposing their will on offense with explosive scoring drives while their defence gave the Spartans nothing. It was another statement performance for the Eagles who are a team with championship aspirations; for the Spartans, it was a tough outing that extends a difficult season as they continue searching for their first breakthrough.
Seniors: UniSA Eagles 4-1 defeat Port Adelade Spartans 1-4
Final Score: 26 – 0
The UniSA Eagles strengthened their position near the top of the seniors’ ladder and are firmly in the top 2, moving to 4–1 with a decisive 26–0 win over the Port Adelaide Spartans, who fall to 1–4. The Eagles set the tone early with disciplined, methodical drives and a defence that refused to give the Spartans any room to create positive plays. On offense, the Eagles capitalized on field position and wore down the Spartans with sustained pressure.
The result is a convincing shutout that has the Eagles firmly entrenched in the playoff picture, with a real chance to end their season with a championship, while Port Adelaide faces an uphill climb as the season edges toward its final stretch.
The Eagles go 2-0 across the Juniors & Seniors, while for the Spartans it was a day to forget as both programs fall to shutout losses.
Juniors: South City Chiefs 2-3 defeat Adelaide University Hogs 3-2
Final Score: 20- 16
In one of the more surprising results of the season, the South City Chiefs edged out the Adelaide University Hogs in a tight contest 20–16. This was a scoreline few predicted given the Hogs’ strong start to the season. The Hogs started the year 3-0 but have now lost two of their last three. On this occasion the defending champion Chiefs reminded everyone why they have lifted the trophy five straight years, and with this win their hopes of making it an astonishing six are still alive, as they are not going anywhere.
As the season winds down, the race for 2nd & 3rd will come down to the wire.
Seniors: Adelaide University Hogs 5-0 defeat South City Chiefs 0-5
Final Score: 36- 0
The Adelaide University Hogs continue to reinforce their status as championship front runners with another dominant win. This time a 36–0 shutout over the South City Chiefs. The Hogs controlled the game from start to finish, showcasing the power and consistency that have become their trademark this season.
The Chiefs had shown improvement in recent weeks, but they couldn’t crack the Hogs’ defence or slow their relentless offense. It’s another tough result for South City, while for the Hogs, it’s business as usual—another convincing win as they continue their shot at the perfect season.
