FLAG FOOTBALL
Fast. Skillful. Social. Competitive.
Flag Football is a fast-paced, non-contact version of American Football that focuses on speed, agility, passing, catching, strategy and teamwork.
Instead of tackling, defenders remove a flag from the ball carrier to end the play. With less equipment and no tackling, Flag Football provides an accessible way for people to experience American Football and enjoy the game.
Flag Football can be played competitively, recreationally or socially, making it a sport for people of different ages, backgrounds and experience levels.

YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE PLAYED BEFORE.
Never played American Football or Flag Football? No problem.
Flag Football is easy to get started in, and our clubs can help you learn the fundamentals, understand the rules and develop your skills.
You don't need previous football experience. If you've played another sport, many of the skills you've developed can transfer across to Flag Football.
WHY PLAY FLAG FOOTBALL?
FAST
Quick plays, constant movement and plenty of opportunities to get involved.
SKILLFUL
Passing, catching, route running, agility and decision-making are all important parts of the game.
SOCIAL
Meet new people, build friendships and become part of the football community.
COMPETITIVE
Play organised competition and challenge yourself against other teams.
FLAG FOOTBALL BEYOND
THE LEAGUE
Flag Football isn't limited to organised league competition.
AFSA supports our clubs in creating their own Flag Football opportunities, including social events, clinics and activities.
These events provide another way for people to experience the sport, have fun and get involved outside of regular league competition.
